No Injuries After Semi Sideswipes New Hampton School Bus
There were no injuries after a north Iowa school bus was clipped by a semi last week
The Chickasaw County Sheriff’s Office says the near head-on collision occurred at approximately shortly before 8 am last Wednesday (01.24) in the 1700 block of U.S. Highway 63. A New Hampton Community School District school bus, with about 15 or so students on board, was traveling southbound on 63 when it was struck by a semi that was traveling northbound when the truck entered into the southbound lane. Â
Contact was made between the semi and school bus causing damage to the mirror and window on the left side of the bus. The semi did not stop and continued northbound. No students nor the bus driver were injured.Â
Sheriff Ryan Shawver says they have not yet identified the truck driver and the incident remains under investigation.
