Beulah Kramer, 91, of Charles City, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery at Roseville.

A luncheon and time of fellowship will take place at 11:30a.m. at The Walter F. Bohl Community Center, 520 College Street, in Marble Rock.

Beulah Marie Nikolas, the daughter of Herman and Leta (Jewell) Nikolas, was born June 14, 1932, in Marble Rock. She attended Marble Rock High School. In high school, she was in band and played drums. During high school she met the love of her life, Ronald Kramer. Beulah was united in marriage to Ronald on March 21, 1952, in Rockford. On this day there was a blizzard, so the couple only made it to Mason City and had to stay two nights at $7 each night. At that time, that was a lot of money!

The couple made their home with Ron’s parents for a while before moving into an old schoolhouse that was on the land of the family farm. Eventually, another farm was purchased half a mile east and this is where they called home. A modern home it was not, but the true strength and determination they had made a good life together. Beulah and Ron farmed until 1998. They stayed on the farm and they built a new home to replace the “castle” as the old house was often called. In 2006, they moved to Charles City where she currently resided.

Beulah was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Roseville. Beulah was very creative and crafty and could make beautiful quilts. She collected bells and decorative tins and was always on the search for new ones with Ronnie. She loved doing word searches and would do several puzzles a day at times. Beulah would love when family and friends would visit. She was a strong and independent lady, and she was loved by many. Beulah and Ronald enjoyed their 65 years plus of marriage and were blessed with a lot of good times together.

Living family members include her children: Mike (Norlene) Kramer of Sheffield, Linda Pearce (Courtney Kuhlemeier) of Rockford, Steven Kramer (deceased), Joseph Kramer (Becky Brierly) of Marble Rock, James Kramer (deceased) and Richard (Lisa) Kramer of Sullivan, Missouri; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sons.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
