North Iowa Man Wins $250K With Lottery Scratcher

A north Iowa man has won a quarter-of-a-million dollars with an Iowa Lottery scratch ticket he purchased in southeast Iowa.

Randall Petersen of Mason City scored the seventh top prize of $250,000 in the “Lucky 7 Bonus” scratch game. He purchased his winning ticket at an Express Lane in Davenport and claimed his prize Monday at the lottery’s Mason City regional office.

Lucky 7 Bonus is a $20 scratch game that features 20 top prizes of $250,000 and 76 prizes of $10,000.

Last week, a northeast Iowa man won a $20,000 Lotto America prize.

Michael Smith of Cedar Falls matched all five white balls, but missed the Star Ball® for the  Monday, March 4th drawing. He was one number away from winning a share of that night’s $3.73 million jackpot.

Smith purchased his winning ticket at Hy-Vee on University Avenue in Cedar Falls.
