Community Members Sought to Help with Downtown (Charles City) Clean-Up Day

Main Street Charles City is organizing a Community Volunteer Downtown Clean-Up Day this Saturday (04.20).

In an effort to sweep away the winter debris and get the downtown Charles City area looking good for spring and summer activities, residents are invited to bring a broom or leaf blower and meet at Central Park at 3:30 pm on Saturday.

Community Development Director Mark Wicks says, “All ages are welcome to come and lend a hand to help make their town look good. Bring a friend or neighbor, or make it a family activity. It’s a great way to give back a little and help make a difference in your community.”

The cleanup will focus on Central Park, the Main Street sidewalks and driveway approaches, with additional work on the surrounding downtown area depending on the number of volunteers. A separate Main Street Charles City effort will be done to clean the downtown parking lots at a later date through the Adopt-A-Lot program.
