No Areas of Drought or Abnormally Dry in NEIA

Although saturating rains last weekend led to flooding, subsequent road and bridges, and some crop washouts, they also led to an “all clear” for any concerns of drought across the region.

Based on precipitation through 7 am Tuesday, June 25, the latest U.S. Drought Monitor for Iowa shows most of north and northeast Iowa as having no drought nor abnormally dry conditions. The only areas rated abnormally dry are the southeast half of Black Hawk County, southern two-thirds of Buchanan County, and a small southwest section of Delaware County.

Floyd, Chickasaw, Butler, Mitchell, Howard, Bremer, Fayette, Winneshiek, Allamakee, Worth, Franklin and Cerro Gordo are all rated in the NONE category for having no drought or abnormally dry conditions.
