Mason City Woman Killed in SUV/Pedestrian Collision

A pedestrian is dead after she was struck by a vehicle on the northeast side of Mason City Wednesday (07.24) evening.

The Iowa State Patrol says a 2004 GMC Envoy, driven by 17-year-old Jade Quam of Mason City, was southbound in the 1500 block of Plymouth Road, when her SUV struck the pedestrian shortly after 6 pm.

The State Patrol says the pedestrian, now identified as 42-year-old Jennifer Buls-Vrba of Mason City, was taken by ambulance to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center, where she died. 

This incident remains under investigation.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Mason City Police Department, and Mason City Fire Department assisted at the scene.
