Power Outage Triggers Early Dismissal for Nashua-Plainfield Students
A power outage Friday (08.30) morning forced Nashua-Plainfield to send students home early for the day, even though power was restored before classes were dismissed.
The power went out shortly after 9 am Friday (08.30) and the school district decided to release students at 11:30 am. While power was back on about an hour later, Superintendent Jay Marley says they were too far along in their dismissal protocols to reverse course and keep students in school.
The power outage threatened to cancel or postpone Friday’s home football game between Nashua-Plainfield and Postville, but the game will go on as scheduled at 7 pm.
