Charles City Police Officer, Others Rescue Person from Cedar River
A Charles City Police officer helped rescue a person from the Cedar River Sunday (09.15).
Police Chief Hugh Anderson says CCPD responded to the area of the suspension bridge on a report that someone had fallen off or jumped off the bridge. The reporting party also indicated the person was struggling in the river.
Anderson says officer Kevin Beaver took off his duty gear and jumped in the water and pulled the adult male to the shore. The Charles City Fire Department also assisted with the rescue efforts.
AMR Ambulance transported the unidentified 30-year-old man to Floyd County Medical Center for medical attention.
