Study, Survey for US 18 from Charles City to New Hampton in Closes Monday (10.28)

Time is running short to provide your input to the Iowa Department of Transportation on current and future transportation needs on U.S. Highway 18 between Floyd and Chickasaw counties.
The DOT survey, regarding Highway 18 from Charles City to the U.S. Highway 63 interchange near New Hampton, is scheduled to close this Monday (10.28).
Pete Hjelmstad, with the DOT’s Mason City District office, says the public’s input could lead to the highway being upgraded to “Super 2” status.
Pumping the brakes, Hjelmstad adds that the DOT is only gathering information at this point.
Hjelmstad adds that the “Super 2” concept has already been or will be implemented on other sections of Highway 18.
Among the DOT questions for motorists who travel Highway 18 between Charles City and New Hampton include: How does it function today? Do you have any safety and/or mobility concerns? What needs do you see in the future?
