Floyd County Supervisor Races Uncontested Tuesday (11.05)

The Floyd County Board of Supervisors is set to undergo a transformation with at least two new members, both who are unopposed on Tuesday’s  (11.05) election ballot.

Neither District 1 Supervisor Mark Kuhn nor District 3 Supervisor Jim Jorgensen is seeking re-election, with Boyd Campbell the lone candidate running for Jorgensen’s seat. Campbell looks to draw on his farming and finance experience.

Campbell made his comments during the “Candidate Meet and Greet” event last month hosted by the Charles City Chamber of Commerce.

Current Floyd County Auditor Gloria Carr also addressed the audience in her bid to replace Kuhn, noting the County faces financial challenges on various fronts.

Carr also noted that House File 718 is putting additional restrictions on how counties, cities and school districts draw their revenues.

The lone holdover on the Board of Supervisors is District 2 Supervisor Dennis Keifer, whose seat is not up for re-election this year.

Also running unopposed Tuesday in his bid for re-election is Floyd County Sheriff Jeff Crooks.
