City of Charles City Gets “Unmodified” Bill of Audit Health

An audit of City of Charles City finances gives the City a clean bill of health.
During Monday (11.18) night’s City Council meeting, Tim McCartan with TP Anderson and Company highlighted some of the findings from the audit of the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2024.
McCartan noted the City’s total cash basis net position increased approximately $4.1 million from June 30, 2023 to June 30, 2024. Of this amount, the cash basis net position of the governmental activities increased approximately $1.2 million and the cash basis net position of the business-type activities increased approximately $2.9 million.
McCartan said, overall, the City received an audit with an “unmodified opinion.”
Councilman Patrick Lumley said the audit reflected the great efforts of City staff throughout Fiscal Year ’23-24.
