As part of his visits to each county every year, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig made a stop in Chickasaw County Tuesday (12.03).
The New Hampton High School Chapter of FFA hosted Naig for a Q&A session before members gave him a tour of some of their activities and projects.
Naig says the New Hampton FFA succeeds because of strong support, including Ag Advisor Rachel Bauler.
Naig notes that students don’t have to grow up on a farm to join FFA or be in farming to advocate for the ag industry.
Naig adds that any time he can chat with the next generation of farmers, it’s a great learning experience for him and the students.
