North Iowa Woman Stops for Donut, Wins $50K Iowa Lottery Prize

A north Iowa woman’s morning routine was shaken up when she won a $50,000 lottery prize.
34-year-old Sheila Reich of St. Ansgar purchased her winning “PAC-MAN” scratch ticket at Casey’s on Highway 218 in St. Ansgar. She tells the Iowa Lottery, “I dropped my son off at school and I figured I wanted a donut or something, and I got some scratchers while I was there.”
Reich says she took her tickets home and thought she had made a mistake as she uncovered her top prize, but she scanned her ticket with the Iowa Lottery’s mobile app and verified the big win.
She claimed her prize Thursday (04.17) at the lottery’s regional office in Mason City.
Reich plans to use her winnings to pay off the loan on her pickup truck and may purchase a camper for summer adventures with her two children.
Meanwhile, more than a week after the Iowa Lottery posted on Facebook (04.10) that someone had won over $9,000 with a Fat Wallet Progressive InstaPlay ticket purchased at Casey’s in Charles City, the winner has yet to step forward to claim their prize.
