Winnebago to Lay Off Almost 200 People, Including 20 in Charles City
A north Iowa RV manufacturer is set to lay off almost 200 employees.
The Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining website states that Winnebago Industries will lay off 128 people at its Forest City facility, 30 at their Lake Mills operation, 20 at the Charles City plant, and 18 at their Waverly production facility.
The recreational lifestyle manufacturer made the decision to announce layoffs internally, citing current inventory levels, challenging market conditions and lower consumer demand.
Company spokesman Daniel Sullivan says they are assisting affected team members during this period of transition. He adds that the company remains committed to the success of their flagship Winnebago brand, and they continue to be invested in the Iowa community.
