Some North Iowa DOT Bridge Projects Ahead of Schedule, Others Catching Up

Crews are making steady progress on building a new bridge over the Mississippi River at Lansing, according to Pete Hjelmstad with the Iowa DOT’s Mason City District office.
Meanwhile, Hjelmstad says construction of the new Iowa 3 bridge over the Cedar River in Waverly has been slowed by Mother Nature.
Hjelmstad says the bridge replacement project on Iowa 3, just west of Oelwein, remains on target for completion by mid-October.
He also notes that bridge deck overlays on I-35 in the Clear Lake/Mason City area are coming along ahead of schedule.
Hjelmstad adds that once those ramps open, traffic will be shifted from the inside lanes to the outside lanes.
