New Hampton Police Department Again in Hiring Mode

The New Hampton Police Department (NHPD) is again in the hiring mode.
That’s Chief of Police Conrad Rosendahl on the departure of officer Darby Stone, who was slated to be the handler for the department’s new K9, Ozcar. Rosendahl says officer Cory Frank is willing to take on the handler role, but a recent back injury may prevent that.
Rosendahl says they’ve also offered the position to a pair of certified officers that have express interest, but it’s a waiting game to see how it plays out. Regardless, Ozcar will begin training next month.
K9 officer or not, Rosendahl says the pool of potential peace officers is shrinking.
Rosendahl adds that officer Jace Hall is currently in police academy training and will be a fully certified NHPD peace officer by August.
Despite the challenges, Rosendahl says he’s proud of the developments in the police department since he took over, which was a year ago July 1st.
