The 165th North Iowa Fair kicks off this week in Mason City, and this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. Paul Gagnon joined us for Community Conversations to share what’s new — including a high-end carnival from Gold Star Amusements, crowd-pleasing entertainment like Little Texas, Extreme Raptors, and even a cooking show for kids. From butterflies and ninjas to karaoke and Gucci the cow, there’s truly something for everyone.

Plan your visit, explore the full schedule, and get ready for five full days of non-stop fun at NorthIowaFair.fun. Whether you’re in it for the food, rides, shows, or just good family time, the North Iowa Fair has you covered.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
