Shots Fired Hit UTV, Home, Shed in Northeast Iowa
Authorities in northeast Iowa are investigating shots fired at a residence by an unknown assailant.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) says the victim at a home near West Union reported hearing a loud noise and the sound of glass breaking shortly before 11 pm Friday (08,29) night. When the residents woke up the next day, it was discovered that someone had shot their UTV, breaking the glass.
Upon further investigation, it was learned that multiple bullet holes were found going through the house, as well as a nearby machine shed. The firearm used appears to be a semi-automatic rifle (.22 caliber).
FCSO says evidence was seized and sent to the lab for further investigation and surveillance cameras on the property are being processed.
