WinnMed Hosts Annual Community Picnic, Clinic Open House Wednesday (10.08)

WinnMed hosts a Grand Community Picnic and Clinic Open House event Wednesday (10.08) at its main hospital campus in Decorah.
The free picnic from 5 to 7 pm includes a meal of BBQ pork sandwich, chips and water, as well as a game/activity area for kids, including a sand area. There will also be free popcorn, live music, bingo with prizes, and Hands-Only CPR training sessions, sponsored by the WinnMed Foundation and the Dr. Kevin Locke EMS Provider Endowment Fund.
The WinnMed Clinic Open House Wednesday includes guided tours of the newly expanded clinic, highlighting the third completed phase in the Transforming Tomorrow initiative, designed to elevate both patient care and provider collaboration. It also doubles the size of the previous space, allowing for expanded services to enhance the patient experience in a more modern, welcoming environment.
Steve Slessor, Chief Administrative Officer of WinnMed, says, “This year, we’ve combined our Grand Community Picnic with an open house to recognize two important things: the incredible support we’ve received from the community, and the completion of a major construction project.”
Slessor adds, “We know the construction process hasn’t been easy — for our patients, our staff, or our visitors— and we’re grateful for everyone’s patience. We’re excited to finally share the new space and showcase all the ways it will improve the experience and care we provide moving forward.”
