Satellite Voting Available Tuesday, Thursday for Charles City High School Bond Referendum

A $30 million bond referendum to pay for renovations, upgrades and improvements to Charles City High School will know its fate one week from Tuesday (10.28).
During the October School Board meeting, Superintendent Brian Burnight reported that, after submitting a petition with the required number of signatures to the Floyd County Auditor’s office, satellite voting stations will be made available this week.
Burnight added that the voting will be coordinated by official poll workers.
School Board President Bruce Koebrick also noted that the satellite voting is for all elections and measures on the ballot for the November 4th election, not just voting on the bond referendum.
Thus, voters can also cast ballots for the three School Board seats up for election, with challenger Steve Boucher running against incumbents Kathryn Fox, David Schrodt, and Josh Mack, all seeking re-election. All four candidates are expected to participate in a Candidates Forum at 6:30 pm Thursday (10.30) at the Charles City Community Center, which will be broadcast live on KCHA and video streamed on www.kchanews.com.
The bond measure which will require a 60% supermajority YES vote to pass.
