“Vote No” Signs Against CCHS Bond Vandalized, Under Investigation

“Vote No” signs against a $30 million bond referendum to make upgrades, improvements, and renovations to Charles City High School have been vandalized.

Gordon Boge with the Coalition for Better County Government says he received word Saturday (10.25) morning that a pair of signs in Charles City were spray painted over.

Boge says CCPD is investigating the incident, including canvassing any security cameras in the area.

Boge says the signs have since been cleaned up…by those in favor of passing the bond.

The Future Forward CC Bond 2025 Facebook page acknowledged the incident with a message that reads: “As we wrap up this election season, we want to finish with the same good character and community spirit that brought us together in the first place. We do not condone vandalism or any kind of disrespectful behavior. No matter how people vote, we all care deeply about this community—and that’s something worth protecting.”

The post adds, “Let’s finish this campaign with kindness, integrity, and pride in where we live.”

The bond measure will need a 60% supermajority YES vote to pass on November 4th.
