Veterans Day programs across the region Tuesday (11.11) included ceremonies organized by the Charles City FFA.
U.S. Army Master Sargent and Green Beret Jeremy Baugh addressed the crowd at the Charles City Middle School.
Baugh encouraged the audience to thank Veterans for providing the freedom we enjoy in America.
Retired Sargent Major Michael Manahl had a similar message to the audience at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Chickasaw County Courthouse, hosted by American Legion Fae Stine Post 38 of New Hampton.
Manahl came from a military family that included service by his grandfather, father, brother, and countless relatives.
Veterans Day Programs were also hosted in the Osage, Turkey Valley, Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock, Nashua-Plainfield and Central Springs school districts.
