Christmas Cheer Fund Taking Applications, In Need of Donations

The Christmas Cheer Fund is gearing up for another holiday season of helping those in need.

That’s Jane Reynolds with the Christmas Cheer Fund, which serves Cerro Gordo, Floyd, Franklin, Hancock, Mitchell, Winnebago and Worth counties.

Reynolds says they look to help as many families as they can with their goal again to raise $100,000, which they were able to surpass last year.

Reynolds says they expect the number of families in need to increase.

The application period for families to apply is open through December 5th.

As of Wednesday (11.26), the number of applications had reached 1,300. However, donations through Tuesday (11.25) had totaled just $34,000, over 65% short of their monetary goal

To apply or to donate, visit Christmas Cheer Fund Inc on Facebook or www.christmascheerfund.org.

The mailing address for donations is Christmas Cheer Fund, Box 28, Mason City, IA 50402.
