Mom Nature Forces Organizers to “Pull the Plug” on Little Light of Mine in New Hampton

Organizers of a popular northeast Iowa holiday lights display were forced to “pull the plug” on the event earlier than anticipated.

According to a “Little Light of Mine” social media post on December 26th, “Due to the weather causing issues with the lights and the GFCI outlets, we will not be lighting the park any more this season. We all look forward to next year!”

Little Light of Mine opened Thanksgiving weekend in New Hampton’s Mikkelson Park and was scheduled to be lit every night through this past Sunday (12.28). However, Mother Nature brought on the electrical issues Christmas night and organizers made the announcement last Friday (12.26) morning that the Christmas lights would not be turned back on.
