While he hasn’t seen much action yet, New Hampton Police Chief Conrad Rosendahl says their new K9, Ozkar, is at the ready.
The absence of a lot of criminal activity for Ozkar could be a sign that people are behaving themselves in New Hampton, though Rosendahl says the K9’s presence might also be a contributing factor.
Also now on board is Officer Lucas Kleckner, who joined the NHPD in November, because of Ozkar.
Rosendahl has been the handler for Ozkar since last August, but a transition plan is in place for Kleckner to take over that role.
Rosendahl says Kleckner and Ozkar will start their K9 training in early March.
