COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS BROUGHT TO YOU BY FLOYD COUNTY MEDICAL CENTER:

This week on KCHA, Chris Berg welcomed PAWS Humane Society Assistant Director Jacie Peichel, joined by her husband Edward — and Joseph, a two-year-old male tabby who quickly took over the studio. With striking orange eyes, oversized tomcat paws, and a love for playing fetch, Joseph is affectionate, vocal, and ready for a forever home. Jacie also shared weekend adoption hours, current shelter wish list needs including cat litter, paper towels, laundry supplies, wand toys and dog treats, plus volunteer and foster opportunities. Upcoming events include the Tattoos for PAWS fundraiser June 13 at Emerald Ink in Mason City, along with planning underway for the annual Dog Jog and UTV Ride.

To learn more about adopting Joseph, view available cats and kittens, donate supplies like cat litter or dog treats, or volunteer your time, visit pawscharlescity.com or follow PAWS Humane Society – Charles City on Facebook.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
