Seven Applications received for Osage/Riceville Shared Superintendent Post

Seven applications have been received as a pair of north Iowa school districts continue their search for a new shared superintendent.
Last month, Barb Schwamman announced her resignation as shared superintendent for Osage and Riceville schools. She has held the post the past 11 years in Osage and shared in Riceville for the last nine years.
Schwamman’s resignation will be effective at the end of the current school year, which is June 30th. She says she has accepted a leadership position as Director of District and School Support with Keystone Area Education Agency (AEA), beginning July 1st.
In their recruitment of candidates to succeed Schwamman, the Osage and Riceville school boards are working with EDK Consulting, LLC, led by Ed Klamforth, former superintendent for Waverly-Shell Rock Schools.
The deadline for applications was 4 pm last Friday (03.20), and Klamforth says seven applicants have tossed their hats in the ring for consideration.
Klamforth says the hiring timeline calls for the school boards to conduct interviews starting Monday, April 6. Identities of candidates will be announced after the pool is trimmed to those who will be interviewed.
Klamforth says there will also be a team of community members who will interview the candidates.
