Bond Reduction Denied for Female Suspect in Northeast Iowa Tainted Lasagna Investigation

The female suspect in the northeast Iowa investigation into drug-laced lasagna that targeted a pregnant woman has been denied a reduction of her bail, while an arraignment date has been set for her alleged male counterpart, arrested last week.
In January, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), along with other agencies, launched an investigation into reports of a tainted pan of lasagna, which was delivered to another family on December 28, 2025. The lasagna was confirmed to contain oxycodone, a Schedule II narcotic, according to testing by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory.
The investigation determined that the lasagna was intended to induce a miscarriage in a pregnant woman. 36-year-old Amber Snow and 35-year-old Matthew Uthoff, both of Decorah, were identified as co-conspirators, with evidence allegedly found in electronic communications and search histories.
WCSO arrested Snow March 10th on charges that include delivering a controlled substance, a Class C felony; attempted termination of a human pregnancy without consent, and four counts of administering harmful substances, all Class D felonies. Snow also faces one count of child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
She remains held in the Winneshiek County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond after her motion for bond reduction was denied during a hearing Tuesday (03.31) in Winneshiek County District Court. Snow is also slated for arraignment next Tuesday (04.07), at which time she can enter a plea of guilty or not guilty.
Meanwhile, arraignment for Uthoff has been scheduled for next Monday (04.06). He is currently in jail with bail set at $38,000 cash or surety bond following his arrest last Thursday (03.26) on charges similar to those of Snow.
