City Hall/Police Dept. Remodel in Charles City Moves Towards Substantial Completion in Early June

The some-$4.5 million renovation of City Hall in Charles City is on track for staff to move back in in about two months.
That’s Police Chief Hugh Anderson, who says remodel includes a larger PD work space.
A more spacious sally port and garage for squad cars is also in the works.
Anderson says they’re also trying to help keep costs down for the renovation project.
Until the project is complete, CCPD continues to operate out of a temporary location at 623 Beck Street, along with Parks & Rec and Code Enforcement. City Hall staff remain temporarily housed at 507 Clark Street in Charles City.
