New Hampton Police Department Could Be at Full Staff by End of May

The New Hampton Police Department could be fully staffed by the end of May.                                                                                                                            

Chief Conrad Rosendahl says Officer Cory Frank, sidelined by an off-duty injury in July 2025, is expected to return to active duty this month provided he’s medically cleared following his back surgery in February. Frank has been handling some administrative duties in recent weeks.

Rosendahl says this month will also see Officer Lucas Kleckner conclude training with NHPD K9 Ozkar.

Until then, Rosendahl is available as backup handler should the need arise to deploy Ozkar.

Rosendahl adds that having the K9 unit helped attract Kleckner to join the NHPD, a win-win in many aspects.

Helping cover for Kleckner when he’s at training and until Frank returns to active duty, is Officer Darby Stone, who recently returned as a part-time officer, though he’s been pulling full-time duty.

With those pieces coming together, the NHPD is set to become fully staffed…a long time in the works.

All as Rosendahl approaches his second anniversary as NHPD chief on July 1st.
