Miss Stacey from the Charles City Public Library joined us on Community Conversations this morning to share details on a busy summer lineup at the library. Summer programming includes Wonderful Wednesdays featuring comedy, reptiles, sled dogs, storytellers and an interactive Shrek event at the Charles Theatre. Families can also take part in “Read Around Town,” which brings story time to locations throughout the community including Otto’s Oasis, Riverbend Wildlife Area and more.

Miss Stacey also highlighted the upcoming Library Amazing Race, teen Pokémon and graphic novel events, Healthy Harvest cooking classes, adult chair yoga and cookbook club activities, plus summer reading incentives encouraging kids to read at least 20 minutes each day.

For full event calendars, program details, and sign-ups, visit the Charles City Public Library website at charles-city.lib.ia.us or follow them on Facebook for the latest updates.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City, which basically means he’s been corn‑fed and radio‑bred since day one. As a kid, he was always caught singing along to the radio — and while he’ll tell you he’s great at karaoke, let’s just say the audience’s ears often file a noise complaint. When he’s not busy butchering ‘80s power ballads, Chris enjoys starting overly ambitious home projects that rarely make it past the “great idea” stage. He lives in Charles City with his endlessly patient wife Vicki and their kids, Brynlee and Jaxon, who have already perfected the art of the eye‑roll every time Dad cracks another “dad joke.”
