Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Set for Collective on 13th in Charles City

Developers of The Collective on 13th, a new $12 million affordable housing community bringing additional housing options to Charles City, will host a community grand opening and ribbon cutting this week.

Commonwealth Development of Wisconsin says the 40-home community delivers a mix of one-to-three-bedroom apartments, plus clubhouse community room, fitness center, and leasing office.  The housing project was the result of Charles City’s 2023 designation as a Thriving Community to expand housing availability, strengthen the local workforce, and invest in the city’s future.

Charles City Area Development Group (CCADC) partnered on the land/community, which will be managed by Indigo Living, a West Des Moines-based property management company. The homes will be available to those making 30-40-60-80% of the area median income.

The grand opening/ribbon cutting for The Collective on 13th begins at 11 AM Wednesday (07.15).

Meanwhile, Mayor Dean Andrews says, across the street, Kading Properties of Urbandale is developing market rate housing and has been turning dirt in the one-time field.

The Kading development is expected to build units for around 130 households.
