New Fall Hours for Nashua Community Food Pantry Start Tuesday (Sept. 1)

The Community Pantry in Nashua will operate under new fall hours starting Tuesday (Sept. 1).

Located at 300 Merrill Street in St. John Lutheran Church, the Community Pantry serves about 15 households a month.

That’s Director Laurie Kristiansen, who says they also serve an average of 45 households a month with their Mobile Pantry on the 3rd Thursday of the month.

Still, that’s only a snapshot of the daily food insecurity being addressed by the Community Pantry in Nashua and the Floyd County Food Pantry in Charles City.

Kristiansen adds that those facing food insecurity are closer than you think.

In their effort to serve those in need, Kristiansen says the Nashua Community Pantry recently added an air-cooling system for the pantry, made possible by a private anonymous donor and a Thrivent Grant, secured by Sarah O’Neill of Nashua, on behalf of the pantry.

New fall pantry hours in Nashua, which go into effect September 1st, are Tuesdays from 1 to 6 PM, Wednesdays from 2 to 4 PM, and Thursdays from 11 AM to 3 PM. The Community Pantry will also be open the 4th Saturday of the month from 10 AM to noon.
