Chickasaw County Courthouse Taking on New Looks, Inside and Out

It might not be a makeover, but the Chickasaw County Courthouse in New Hampton is seeing its share of changes, inside and out.
During Monday’s (Oct. 12) Supervisors meeting, County Auditor Sheila Shekelton notes things will be different when in-person absentee voting begins on Wednesday (Oct. 14).
Shekelton describes the process for those coming in to cast a ballot.
Meanwhile, custodian Dave Gorman says the transition to make the former County Engineer’s office into the new Supervisors boardroom has been going as planned.
The Courthouse is also getting about $800,000 in new windows installed and while Board Jacob Hackman says the windows look good from the outside, the view from inside has been a little bright for some.
Gorman noted that the upper window tint was in the project specs, but for some reason was not included with the windows that have been installed.
