Amber Alert Issued for Missing Northeast Iowa Girl, Found Safe Less Than Two Hours Later

An AMBER Alert for a missing northeast Iowa 12-year-old ended Sunday (04.05) after authorities say the girl was found safe.

The alert was issued just after 5 PM, indicating that Deyton Annabelle Cranston of Waterloo was last seen with a man only identified as “Danny.” He was said to be Hispanic or Indian and driving a red Toyota Camry with a black spoiler, tinted windows, and no front license plate.

Waterloo Police added that the girl had been reported missing around 12:30 PM from the 200 block of Byron Avenue in Waterloo and that her cellphone had been found along Interstate 380, about 30 miles south of that area.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety ended the alert about 6:45 pm Sunday and reported that Deyton was safe.

No other details were released by Waterloo Police.
