Date Set for A Wicked Good Spookwalk in Charles City

Mark your calendars for a “Wicked” good time on Monday night, October 26th, when a Charles City Halloween tradition returns for its 31st year.

“A Wicked Good Spookwalk” is the theme for this year’s Spookwalk, hosted by Main Street Charles City. This free, family-focused event, is for children up through sixth grade and their families to walk the trail along Riverfront Park in costume and visit decorated treat stations from 4:30-to 6:30 PM.

A special pre-entry period from 4 to 4:30 PM is available for children with special/sensory needs or may struggle with large crowds. You must pre-register your child by calling Main Street Charles City or emailing  info@charlescitychamber.com. Pre-registration ends at noon on October 26th. No early entry will be allowed that night without pre-registration.

The Spookwalk will start behind First Baptist Church and Immaculate Conception Church. In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be Wednesday, October 28th.

Any business or non-profit organization can participate in Spookwalk with a treat station. There is no fee, just the requirement to decorate your booth and be prepared to hand out treats to 1,500 kids. You must register with Main Street Charles City by October 21st. There will be judging for the Best Use of Theme, Most Creative, Mayor’s Choice, Kid’s Choice, President’s Award, and Best Overall Treat Station.

The official Trick-or-Treat Night in Charles City has been set for 5:30 to 7:30 PM Saturday, Oct. 31st.
