A Butler County man is dead following a two-vehicle crash Friday (06.23).
The Iowa State Patrol says the collision occurred shortly after 3 pm Friday afternoon just east of Allison. 64-year-old Paul Yerkes of Greene was driving a van westbound on Highway 3 when the vehicle entered the eastbound lanes, striking an eastbound semi driven by 41-year-old Timothy Grittmanm of Allison, near the intersection with Newell Avenue.
Yerkes died at the scene. Grittmann was injured and taken to Waverly Health Center by Allison EMS.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Allison Fire and EMS, Waverly Health Center EMS, Counsell Woodley Funeral Home, Butler County Medical Examiner, Butler County DOT, and McDivitt’s Towing also assisted at the scene.
