Reflooring Project to Close Charles City Public Library Starting Thursday

For a second time this year, the Charles City Public Library is facing an extended closure.

The library closed February 7th for the installation of new tile flooring in the lobby. The original plan called for the project to be completed in less than three weeks, but the closure extended into March.

That’s City Administrator Steve Diers, who adds that, unfortunately, the City incurred some lost costs with the failed project.

The library will close starting this Thursday, August 10, and is expected to be closed for about four weeks. During the closure, patrons are asked to put all checkout materials on reserve for curbside pickup.
