Future Forward to Host Community Meeting Wednesday (10.08) for $30 Million CCHS Bond

Future Forward CC Bond 2025 invites voters in the Charles City School District to a Community Meeting Wednesday (10.08) night to learn more about the $30 million bond referendum to pay for renovations, upgrades and improvements to the high school, originally constructed over 65 years ago.

Among several items included in the overhaul is new HVAC and air handling systems. Longtime former teacher Jim Lundberg, who still subs at the High School, posted a Facebook video over the weekend from the unairconditioned building on the heels of five straight days when temps in Charles City pushed into the mid-to-upper 80s.

Mayor Dean Andrews supports the bond, noting it will allow for changes at CCHS that regular school finances can’t afford.

Andrews adds that schools, housing and jobs go hand-in-hand to attracting people to town.

The Bond Community Meeting at CCHS begins at 6:30 pm and will include tours of the building.

Passage of the bond on November 4th requires a 60% supermajority YES vote.
