Highway 218 Project in Osage Resumes, Avenue of the Saints Project to Start Monday (04.27) Near Charles City 

A north Iowa road construction project, on hold since last fall, is back in progress.

The New Hampton Construction office of the Iowa DOT says work has resumed on a full-depth patching and hot-mix asphalt resurfacing project on U.S. 218 in Osage. This is a carryover project from last year and is expected to be completed by late May, weather permitting.

Travelers on the two-lane section of U.S. 218 in Osage should expect intermittent lane closures. Flaggers and pilot cars will direct traffic through the work zone.

The DOT’s Pete Hjelmstad says a new project is expected to begin next week west of Charles City.
