Myron John Daniel was suffering from Alzheimer’s and Congestive Heart Failure. He met his Heavenly Father on Father’s Day. He was born in Austin, MN on November 20, 1942, to George and Hildegard (May) Daniel. He graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin, MN in 1960. He married the love of his life, Mary Ellen Smith, on February 13, 1965, and to this union four children were born.

As a young man Myron worked at Cotter’s Beef Farm in Austin, MN. In 1963 he moved to Charles City, IA to work at the Oliver Corporation/White Farm. He was a perpetual entrepreneur; he co-owned L&M Motorcycle Shop. He and his wife owned a purebred Yorkshire pig breeding operation and in 1987 they started Midwest Wood Fabrication Sawmill and Pallet Factory Divisions from which he retired January 27, 2026, at the age of 83. “Just to stay busy,” he also had part time jobs at TJ Service and Bluhm’s Greenhouse. He was a Jack of all Trades and a master of many.

Myron was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served on both the Parish Life Committee and Parish Council and was a member of Knights of Columbus.  For over 40 years Myron joyfully taught 5th graders about Jesus through CCD. Teaching the kids was the highlight of his week.

Myron loved all the animals on his farm, especially his purebred Morgan horses and his beloved dogs. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, gardening, reading Louis L’Amour Westerns, and playing cards.  Myron loved spending time with his family and many friends.

Myron always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye and was always willing to help anyone and everyone. He loved little children and lit up every time one of his grandkids walked in the room. He will be remembered as a great storyteller and lived a life worthy of many stories.

He is loved and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen (Smith) Daniel; children: Shane (Colleen) Daniel, Karissa (Brian) Anderson, Shannon (Kevin) Holm; grandchildren: Dannielle (Isaac) Remer, Nicole Daniel, Zachary Daniel, Kelly Cliff, Brianna Anderson, Kellsie Anderson, Mekenzie (Vincent) Jenaway, Melaena Holm, Olivia (fiancé Kyle Way) Holm; seven great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
